2. Privacy Policy (Data Collection and Use)

WordSync is a free word-matching game published by Tafjoy Lab. We collect only what is needed to run the game, multiplayer features, optional purchases, and optional ads.

We do not require your real name, email address, or phone number to play.

Information you provide or that the app generates:

Username and a public friend code (to play, add friends, and send invites)
Language and optional profile avatar or photo (only if you choose a photo from your device)
Gameplay data such as match history, scores, league points, streaks, and in-game gems
Friends and invites linked to your public friend code
Profile reports — if you report another player’s profile photo, we store the report to prevent abuse (reporter id, reported id, reason, date)

Automatic or optional data:

Device and app data (app version, device type, crash or performance logs) to keep the app stable
Advertising data — if you use the free version, Google AdMob may use an advertising identifier to show ads. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
Push notifications (optional) — if you allow notifications, a device token is used for game invites and friend-request alerts

Profile photos you upload are resized by the app, stored on our servers, and shown to other players (for example on leaderboards and friend lists). You can switch back to a preset avatar at any time.

In-App Purchases: WordSync uses Google Play (and Apple App Store on iOS) to process purchases and subscriptions. Payment data is handled securely by those platforms according to their privacy policies. We receive only purchase status (for example, premium or ad-free access) through our payment partner RevenueCat.

How we use data: to provide gameplay, rankings, friends, purchases, optional ads, bug fixes, and abuse prevention. Data is stored on your device and on our servers so progress and multiplayer work across sessions.

Third-party services we use: Google Play, Google AdMob, RevenueCat, and cloud hosting providers. They process data under their own policies where applicable.

Children: WordSync is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided data.

3. Information Regarding Refund Requests

If you request a refund for an in-app purchase, Google or Apple may use your purchase history and app usage data to evaluate the request. We comply with their standard platform policies so refund requests are processed accurately and fairly.

4. Terms of Service

By using WordSync, you agree to the following:

App Use: You may use the app for personal, non-commercial entertainment. You must not use it for illegal activities or harassment.
User content (profile photos): If you upload a profile photo, you confirm you have the right to use that image. You must not upload content that is illegal, sexually explicit, violent, hateful, harassing, impersonating others, or otherwise inappropriate for a general-audience game. We may remove photos and restrict accounts that violate these rules.
Reporting: Other players can report profile photos in the app. After many independent reports, only the photo may be removed automatically — your game account, progress, and rankings are not affected.
Intellectual Property: All designs, text, and game mechanics are owned by the developer. You may not copy or redistribute them without permission.
No Warranties: The app is provided “as is.”
Limitation of Liability: We are not responsible for any indirect damages resulting from your use of the app.

5. Account Deletion

You can stop using WordSync at any time by uninstalling the app from your device. This removes local data stored on your phone.

If you also want server-side game data deleted (username, public friend code, rankings, friends linked to your account), email tafjoylab@gmail.com with your public friend code (shown in your profile) and the subject line “WordSync account deletion.” We will process your request within a reasonable time.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this page from time to time. The Effective Date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
